How It Happened

The Chowan Hawks took several shots, but the Warriors defense stood strong to keep the balls from entering the net.  The Warriors countered after twenty minutes of play.  Juan Sebastian Castro took the ball down the field and passed it to Grant Kiker.  Kiker took a few strides before shooting the ball into the net from far out to score the first goal for the Warriors and give them a 1-0 lead going into half time.

Once again, the Hawks pushed ahead to challenge the Warriors on a shot by Lee Wattam, but Miguel Uribe was there to keep Chowan back.  Again and again, Chowan shot the ball toward the net, but Uribe and the Warriors defense kept the ball away.  Danny Jaramillo drove the ball down and took a shot, but the Hawks' Elliot Chadderton knocked the ball away, but Jhon Peter Mareus was right there to drive the ball into the net again and give the Warriors a 2-0 lead.  Just minutes later, Grant Kiker drove the ball down the field again and kicked the ball into the corner of the net to give him his sixth goal of the season.  Kiker's second goal of the game gave the Warriors a 3-0 lead.  The Hawks' Carl Kennedy scored with five minutes remaining in the game, but the Hawks late rally was no enough as the Warriors won the game 3-1.
