Central, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Francis Marion Patriots in a 3-1 final score on Wednesday evening.
The Warriors posted 25 shots and nine shots on goal in the loss. Grant Kiker led the team with five shots on goal. He was followed by Jesus Sosa, Marcel Joseph, Sebastian Castro and Sergio Tapia with one shot on goal each. Jesus Sosa scored his first goal as a Warrior for the lone goal for Southern Wesleyan. Miguel Uribe played all ninety minutes in goal while boasting seven saves.

How It Happened
The Patriots struck first on a goal by Damien Tergella. They went on to lengthen their lead to 3-0 by half time. Southern Wesleyan fought back, taking several shots on goal after halftime, but each of their shots were thwarted by the Francis Marion defense. With seconds remaining in the game, freshman Jesus Sosa took a corner kick and then came into the fray to head the ball into the net to score the Warriors lone goal. Francis Marion won the game in a 3-1 final.
Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on October 7 to take on the John Wesley Lions at 7 p.m. They will remain at Childs Field on October 11 to take on the King Tornado at 7 p.m.
