Warrior Golf Tied for Fifth After Day One
Southern Wesleyan University opened its fall golf season at the Bill Sergeant Invitational hosted by the University of the Cumberlands on Thursday, as the Warriors opened with a team total of 304. The 304 puts SWU in a tie with Reinhardt College in the fifth spot. Walters State University currently holds the lead at 295 in the 14 team field.
SWU is currently leading all teams in the tournament on Par-5 scoring with a 4.85 average (-3), and Brandon Webb is in 3rd on Par-5 scoring with a 4.50 average. Currently Webb and Tyler Cozad posted 75's for the day, while Matthew Blackwell, Steven Bryant, and Blake Couch shot 76, 78, and a 79 respectively. Both Cozad and Webb are tied for 14th overall individually.
The Warriors will finish out tournament play on Friday, September 3rd.
