On Monday, the Southern Wesleyan golf team was in Rome, Georgia competing in the Rome News-Tribune Individual hosted by Berry College. The temperature being in the mid 60's and cloud free sky, the Warriors took full advantage of the the weather conditions. Southern Wesleyan was lead by Brandon Webb and Joshua Ivy, as both of them fired a 1-under par, 71. Webb, a freshmen playing in his first tournament on the traveling squad, bogeyed his third hole of the day, but finished his round strong with only one more bogey and three birdies. Ivy, a fourth year veteran, stumbled out of the gates bogeying 2 out of his first 4 holes. However, he played the last 14 holes bogey free, which included 3 birdies. Freshmen Jayson Cronk fired an even par 72. Cronk battled through his round with 3 birdies and 3 bogeys. Pieter Martin, a fourth year senior, and freshman Steven Bryant both came into the the clubhouse with 76's, respectively. The Southern Wesleyan Warriors finished with a team score of 2-over par, 290, being only one shot short of tying the school record for best team score. The Warriors are currently in third place out of 19 teams. John A. Logan CC is leading the tournament with a team score of 286. The Warriors will complete their second round on Tuesday. 1) John A. The Warriors were looking to build on their round score of 29O, but they weren't able to capitalize. Leading the team on Tuesday were freshmen Jayson Cronk and Brandon Webb. Cronk, who shot 72 on Monday, triple bogeyed his first hole, but continued his round with 4 birdies and 3 bogeys to fire a 74. Cronk finished with a two day total of 146, 2-over par. Webb, who had a first day score of 71, came into the clubhouse with a second day score of 76, putting him 3-over for the tournament. Joshua Ivy followed his first round score of 71 with a 79 (150), while Pieter Martin followed his Monday score of 76 with a 77 (153). Steven Bryant shot 80 on Tuesday, giving him a total of 156, respectively. The Warriors shot 306, giving them a tournament total of 596, putting them in 7th place out of 19 teams. John A.
